No meeting was held in 2004 because of the international conference on “Culture and School. Policies for Arts and Cultural Education across the European Union” which took place from 8 to 10 September in The Hague. The majority of the network members had the chance to exchange information and share insights there.
At the third meeting representatives of the countries which joined the European
Union in May 2004 and the European Commission were present for the first time.
The content-related discussion focused on policy implementation.

During the second meeting the following questions were addressed:
1.What
direct and indirect effects are aimed at with cultural education in your country
and how can these effects be illustrated? Yields and results. 2.Expressed in
competencies, how do the effects of cultural education relate to the more general
effects of education?

The first meeting was, in addition to providing an initial opportunity to
get to know each other, primarily intended to be used to investigate the possibilities
offered by the network. In doing so, the focus was to be on the expectations
of those attending. In what ways do they expect to benefit from the network
(learning what is happening elsewhere) and contribute to it (sharing insights
and experiences with others)? At a content-related level, the meeting was intended
to initiate the formulation of joint subjects for discussion, for example,
what themes do the participating countries have in common and which of these
are suitable for discussion and the exchange of information on the European
level?
